Jan. 2 (Bloomberg) — American Water Works Co. closed the year with two acquisitions by its Pennsylvania subsidiary, the biggest publicly traded water company in the U.S. said.
The $1.2 million of purchases in northeast Pennsylvania were for water assets that serve the Fernwood Resort in Monroe County and the All Seasons Water Co. in Pike County, the Voorhees, N.J.-based utility said in a statement. American Water shares have risen 22 percent over the past year.
