Gamesa to Supply 75 Turbines for Brazilian Wind-Power Projects

(Bloomberg) — Gamesa Corp. Tecnologica SA, Spain’s biggest
wind-turbine maker, got orders to supply 75 units in Brazil for
projects from engineering company Grupo Serven and power utility
Cia. Hidro-Eletrica do Sao Francisco.

The Uniao dos Ventos wind complex, in the northeastern
state of Rio Grande do Norte, will receive 54 turbines, Gamesa
said in an e-mailed statement on Wednesday. Owned by Serveng
Energias Renovaveis, a unit of Serveng, the 113.4-megawatt wind
complex is slated to start operating by the end of 2017.

The Papagaio and Coqueirinho wind farms, jointly owed by
Cia. Hidro-Eletrica do Sao Francisco, or Chesf, and developer
Sequoia Energia, will receive 13 turbines. Their Tamandua Mirim
2 project in the northeastern state of Bahia will receive 8
turbines. The parks are planned to start operating in the first
half of 2016.
