(Bloomberg) — Kyocera Corp. and Century Tokyo Leasing
Corp. completed a 2.3-megawatt floating solar power station in
western Japan.
The plant in Hyogo prefecture, with panels set up on a
reservoir, is the world’s largest floating solar plant, Kyoto-based Kyocera said in a statement Monday.
The venture completed a 1.7-megawatt and a 1.2-megawatt
floating solar plant in Hyogo earlier this year, according to
Kyocera’s website.
Kyocera and Century Tokyo set up the venture in 2012 to
develop solar projects and are planning to build a 13.4-megawatt
floating solar station near Tokyo.
