Marubeni to Build 37MW Biomass Power Plant in Western Japan

(Bloomberg) — Marubeni Corp., a Japanese trading company
that’s developing clean energy projects, will build a 37-megawatt biomass power station in western Japan.

Construction of the plant in Fukui prefecture will start in
November, the Tokyo-based company said in a statement today.

The plant will start running in the summer of 2017 using
woody biomass as fuel, according to the statement. The station
can produce enough electricity for about 70,000 homes.
