SunEdison to Install Four Solar Systems for City of Long Beach

(Bloomberg) — SunEdison Inc., a U.S. solar-panel maker and
power-plant developer, agreed to install four systems with total
output of about 2.5 megawatts on Long Beach, California, city
buildings.

The systems will be added to Long Beach’s airport and
health department building, among other locations, Maryland
Heights, Missouri-based SunEdison said Thursday in a statement.
Terms weren’t disclosed.

Long Beach agreed to buy electricity from the solar
projects under a long-term contract and expects to save $60,000
the first year. SunEdison will operate and maintain the systems.

SunEdison expects to complete solar and wind projects with
2,100 megawatts to 2,300 megawatts of capacity this year.
Installations are expected to rise next year to 2,800 megawatts
to 3,800 megawatts, increasing to 3,800 megawatts to 4,000
megawatts in 2017.
