Oct. 20 (Bloomberg) — Cobra Ingenieria Uruguay SA will
receive a loan for as much as $42.2 million from the Inter-American Development Bank to finance a wind project in the
southern part of that nation.
The Kiyu wind farm will have a capacity of 48.6 megawatts,
the bank said in an Oct. 16 statement on its website. Vestas
Wind Systems A/S turbines for the project are scheduled to be
delivered in the first quarter, the company said Oct. 1.
Uruguay currently gets about 45 percent of its power from
hydroelectric facilities. Renewable energy is forecast to
account for 30 percent of Uruguay’s installed power capacity by
2017, the bank said.
