Dec. 8 (Bloomberg) — JA Solar Holdings Co., one of the two
biggest producers of photovoltaic cells, delivered 100 megawatts
of panels for Pakistan’s first large-scale solar farm.
The panels will be used at the Quaid-e-Azam solar park in
Punjab province, the Shanghai-based company said in a statement
today. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power (Pvt.) Ltd., a company established
by the Punjab provincial government, is developing the solar
farm, which may eventually reach 1,000 megawatts of capacity,
according to its website.
JA Solar Trina and Solar Ltd. were the biggest
manufacturers of solar cells last year with 2.5 gigawatts of
capacity each, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
