(Bloomberg) — Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the world’s largest
turbine maker, agreed to provide equipment with 48 megawatts of
capacity for a project in China’s Fujian province.
Vestas plans to deliver the 24 2-megawatt turbines to China
General Nuclear Power Group’s wind-power unit beginning in the
third quarter, the Aarhus, Denmark-based manufacturer said
Thursday in a statement. The sale includes a two-year service
agreement. Prices weren’t disclosed.
China General Nuclear Power Group has installed 960
megawatts of Vestas turbines in China, according to the
statement.
Onshore wind installations in China this year may exceed 23
gigawatts, more than a third of the global total of almost 60
gigawatts, according to data compiled by Bloomberg New Energy
Finance. China last year installed about 21 gigawatts, up from
15 gigawatts in 2013.
