(Bloomberg) — Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the world’s largest
turbine maker, agreed to supply equipment with 53 megawatts of
capacity for a project in western Finland.
Vestas expects to deliver the 16 3.3-megawatt turbines to
EPV Tuulivoima in the first quarter of next year, the Aarhus,
Denmark-based manufacturer said Tuesday in a statement on its
website. The order includes a six-year service agreement. Terms
weren’t disclosed.
The Ilmajoki Santavuori wind farm is expected to be
operational in the third quarter of 2016 and contribute to
Finland’s goal of producing at least 30 percent of its power
from renewable sources by 2020.
Vestas also said Tuesday that it won a 50-megawatt order
for a project in China.
