(Bloomberg) — The Japanese government is considering a
reduction target of about 25 percent for greenhouse gas
emissions from current levels, the Asahi newspaper reported
Friday.
The government is looking at the target to be achieved by
2030, while it has not decided whether the base year should be
2005 or 2013, the paper reported without saying where it got the
information.
A panel of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party is urging
the government to set a target by the June G7 Summit meetings in
Germany.
