(Bloomberg) — Nippon Paper Industries Co. completed a 5-megawatt biomass power station in the southwestern prefecture of
Kumamoto, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
The plant will use timber from forest thinning as fuel and
the electricity produced at the station will be sold to Kyushu
Electric Power Co. under the country’s incentive program for
clean energy, according to the statement.
Commercial operations will begin in June, the manufacturer
of paper products said.
