Ofgem Publishes 17 Billion-Pound Investment Power Plan

The plans on what five of the six companies that run Britain’s local electricity network can charge customers starting April 2015 are in line with draft proposals that Ofgem published in July. With Western Power Distribution LLP’s prices agreed on earlier, the network investments over the next eight years will total 24 billion pounds, it said in a statement.

TRIG Buys Onshore Wind Farm in Ireland for 17.3 Million Euros

TRIG bought the 25.3-megawatt operational wind farm in County Cork from Renewable Energy Systems Ltd., Guernsey-based TRIG said today in an e-mailed statement. It takes its total portfolio of onshore wind and solar plants to about 439 megawatts, it said.

Severn Trent’s Pretax Profit Rises 10% After Dry Summer

Sales advanced to 947.7 million pounds ($1.49 billion) in the six months through September from 922.4 million pounds a year earlier, the Coventry-based company that supplies water to about 7.7 million people said today. Underlying pretax profit rose 10 percent to 155.8 million pounds. The utility increased its interim dividend 5.6 percent to 33.96 pence a share.

U.S. Planning Largest Wind-Energy Auction Off Massachusetts

The area will be divided into four zones and may produce enough power for 1.4 million homes, the department said today in an e-mailed statement. Twelve companies, including Fishermen’s Energy LLC, Deepwater Wind LLC and Iberdrola SA, are qualified to bid on the areas about 14 miles off the coast. The auction is scheduled for Jan. 29.

Invenergy Secures Financing for 207-Megawatt Wind Farm in Texas

Morgan Stanley affiliates arranged debt financing, including construction loans, Chicago-based Invenergy said today in an e-mailed statement. Invenergy also received tax-equity commitments from undisclosed institutions. Alissa Krinsky, a company spokeswoman, declined to comment on the amount received or financial terms.
