Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) — Solar Power Inc., a renewable-energy
developer backed by China’s LDK Solar Co., agreed to develop two
projects with total capacity of 80 megawatts in the Asian
country.
The company’s SPI Solar Power Engineering Co. unit will
build a ground-mounted 70-megawatt power plant in Inner Mongolia
and a 10-megawatt distributed-generation project in Guangdong
Province, Roseville, California-based Solar Power said in a
statement today. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Construction on the Huade Project in Inner Mongolia is
scheduled to begin next month and be completed by the end of
July. The Shunde Project in Guangdong is expected to be
connected to the grid by the end of next month.
LDK owned 42 percent of Solar Power as of Aug. 19,
according to a company filing.
