Stobart Wins Wood-Supply Deal at $260 Million U.K. Biomass Plant

(Bloomberg) — Stobart Group Ltd. won a contract to supply
waste wood to a 175 million-pound ($260 million) biomass plant
being built in Essex, northeast of London.

Under the 15-year contract with Tilbury Green Power Ltd.,
Stobart will supply 270,000 metric tons of waste wood a year to
the facility being built at Tilbury Port, it said in a statement
on its website. The project will have a 40-megawatt capacity,
which is enough to supply power to 70,000 homes.

Stobart is investing 7.5 million pounds in a processing
plant that will be built opposite the biomass power station.
Construction of the processing plant will start this year and
the fuel supply deal will commence in March 2017, it said in the
statement.
