Nov. 12 (Bloomberg) — Yingli Green Energy Holding Co.,
the world’s biggest solar panel maker, supplied 5 megawatts of
units for Bolivia’s first sun-powered generation plant.
The Isotron unit of Spain’s Grupo Isastur Ingenieria y
Suministros Asturias SA installed 17,000 solar panels in its
plant in the Bolivian state of Pando, Yingli said in a statement
today. Pando has so far relied on diesel for power generation
because the area is not connected to Bolivia’s national grid.
The project uses hybrid photovoltaic-diesel technology,
which incorporates both battery storage and diesel generation.
