Macquarie Raises $1.1 Billion to Invest in U.K. Power Projects

The money is for the inflation-linked Macquarie Infrastructure Debt Fund, the bank said in an e-mailed statement on Monday. It’s raised a total of 2.5 billion pounds and channeled 342.5 million pounds into ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects and U.K. onshore winds farms. The fund started in March last year, according to the company’s website.

Enel in $3.5 Billion Renewables-Supply Deal With Chile’s Endesa

The contract enables Enel to build three clean-energy plants in Chile requiring $800 million of investment, the company said Thursday in a statement on its website. It plans to build its first geothermal facility in the country as well as a wind farm and a solar-power plant. Together they will have a capacity of as much as 300 megawatts.

SunEdison and Gamesa to Develop 1 Gigawatt of Wind Power by 2018

Each company will own 50 percent of the venture, according to a joint statement Thursday. Gamesa will supply equipment, and build and maintain the wind farms. SunEdison will acquire the finished power plants and sell them to TerraForm Power Inc., its listed partnership for project investments, or yieldco.

Swiss Developer Buys 12 Clean-Energy Plants Across Europe

The Muenchenstein-based company acquired 26.8 megawatts of solar and wind-energy facilities in France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. The purchases may boost earnings before interest and taxes by at least 2.8 million Swiss francs ($3 million), it said Thursday in a statement without disclosing terms.

SoftBank Unit to Build 32MW Solar Station in Southwestern Japan

The plant will start running by March 2018 and will produce enough electricity for more than 10,000 homes, SB Energy, the clean energy unit of SoftBank Group Corp., said in a statement Wednesday.

NextEnergy European Solar Targets $2.2 Billion Value in 4 Years

The fund, which is holding an initial share sale in London, seeks as much as 2 gigawatts of generation capacity, Michael Bonte-Friedheim, chief executive officer and co-founder of NextEnergy Capital, said Tuesday by phone. It remains on course to raise 300 million euros by mid-July, he said.
