Axion Supplying Energy-Storage System to Pennsylvania Solar Farm

The Coatesville Solar Initiative, being developed by Keares Electrical Contracting Inc., could end up using 5,000 to 6,000 batteries for energy storage and frequency regulation, New Castle, Pennsylvania-based Axion said today in a statement. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

Brazil Raises Power-Rate Cap on Projects for Next Auction

Bidders at the Nov. 28 auction for hydroelectric projects with as much as 50 megawatts of capacity will be allowed a maximum rate of 164 reais ($67) a megawatt-hour, up from 158 reais originally proposed, the country’s electricity regulator, known as Aneel, said by e-mail today. For thermal plants that use biomass, coal or natural gas, the cap was raised to 209 from reais 197 reais per megawatt-hour.

Solar Power Inc. to Buy Shanghai All-Zip Roofing for $54 Million

Solar Power will use ordinary shares valued at $2.38 apiece to pay for the purchase, the Roseville, California-based company said in a statement today. The deal is expected to close 10 working days after Shanghai All-Zip Roofing completes a reorganization.

SunEdison Arranges $130 Million Loan for Solar Project in Chile

Corpbanca SA and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA are providing non-recourse debt for the 69.5-megawatt Javiera solar farm, St. Peters, Missouri-based SunEdison said today in a statement. The lenders also will provide a local Chilean peso VAT facility worth $30 million.

JinkoSolar Supplying 19 Megawatts of Panels for Chile Solar Farm

The project in the Atacama Desert will generate enough electricity for about 30,000 homes, the Shangrao, China-based solar manufacturer said in a statement today. The buyer and terms of the sale weren’t disclosed.
