SunFunder provides debt finance for solar companies and projects in emerging markets. As an intermediary offering investors a route into this emerging market, SunFunder aims to bridge the gap between capital markets and off-grid solar markets.
How are they disrupting their industry?
SunFunder is positioned to be the pre-eminent debt provider to a landscape of companies providing access to 1.2bn people without electricity. BENF expects the number of off-grid solar users to rise from 36m in 2016 to 99m in 2020 and the retail value of the market to grow to $3.1bn by 2020.
