Norway Invests in Green Africa Power to Fund Renewables

The money will be used to fund renewable energy projects in African markets where it’s most needed, Vivian Nicoli, a partner at Eiser Infrastructure Partners LLP, an adviser to GAP, said in an e-mailed statement. GAP provides long-term loans to privately owned clean-power projects in Africa and it expects to start investing in the first quarter.

Southern Planning to Develop 131-Megawatt Solar Farm in Georgia

The power plant will supply energy for more than 21,000 homes, the Atlanta-based company said today in a statement. Construction on a 911-acre site in Taylor County is expected to begin in September, with commercial operation scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016. First Solar Inc. is providing the panels and engineering services.

National Grid Planning 16 Megawatts of Massachusetts Solar Power

This is the second phase of the company’s Connect21 program that already has 5 megawatts of solar capacity in operation, according to a statement on its website. The 16 megawatts will be spread among 19 locations and construction is expected to be completed by June.
