Renewables an Alternative to Coal in Turkey’s $400 Billion Plan

The country’s plan to meet rising power demand through 2030 mainly with coal-fired plants would cost almost the same, about $400 billion, if clean-energy facilities were built, a a new report from the research company shows. The current plan would double carbon emissions in the period, while the renewables alternative would stabilize them after a few years.

NTT Unit Plans to Build 15MW Solar Power Plant in Northern Japan

The plant will be built inside a park in Oshu city, Iwate prefecture, NTT Facilities Inc. said in a statement today. Operations are expected to start in October 2016.

Trina Supplying 28.5 Megawatts of Panels for Solar Farms in U.K.

Sustainable Power Group and Camborne Capital bought the panels, which are expected to be installed before a March 31 deadline to qualify for renewable obligation certificates, Changzhou-based Trina said today in a statement. Terms of the sale weren’t disclosed.
