Triodos Starts Share Issue to Raise Funds for Local Solar Farm

The companies plan to raise 2.75 million pounds ($4 million) to finance a solar energy facility in Chelwood that will produce enough electricity to power about 1,160 homes, Zeist, Netherlands-based Triodos said Monday in an e-mailed statement.

TerraForm Deal With Duke Energy Expands Stake in Solar Portfolio

The power plants have a total of 34 megawatts of capacity and were built jointly by Duke Energy Corp. and Integrys Energy Group Inc. Bethesda, Maryland-based TerraForm bought 9 megawatts of capacity from Duke, according to a statement Thursday, after a 23-megawatt purchase from Integrys announced June 4.

Foresight Agrees to Buy Solar-Power Project in Central England

The 30-megawatt solar facility in Nottinghamshire will expand Foresight’s portfolio to 263 megawatts, the London-listed fund said Thursday in an e-mailed statement, without disclosing terms. It expects the project to receive government subsidies once operational.

Sharp Corp. supplied solar panels for the plant in Ehime prefecture, Itochu said in a statement Thursday. The electricity will be sold to Shikoku Electric Power Co.

Yingli Supplying 40 Megawatts of Solar Modules in Honduras

Yingli is delivering 25 megawatts for the first phase of a 50-megawatt project in Nacaome and 15 megawatts for a utility-scale solar farm in Choluteca, the Baoding, China-based company said in a statement Wednesday. Terms of the sale to Sybac Solar LLC weren’t disclosed.

Landis+Gyr to Supply Energy Storage System for Finland’s Helen

Landis+Gyr will supply a 1.2-megawatt storage system to be set up next to the Suvilahti solar power plant, the largest in Finland, according to a statement by Toshiba Corp. which acquired Landis+Gyr in 2011.
