Executive Summary

Clean energy investment in companies and projects reached a record $280bn in 2011, with more countries than ever attracting a share.

This paper categorises the asset finance portion of investments according to origin, in order to analyse cross-border investment (CBI) in light of promises made by wealthy nations at Copenhagen, Cancun and Durban to move $100bn annually from ‘North’ to ‘South’ to help poorer nations combat climate change.
