Industry Decarbonization

BloombergNEF is proud to host the inaugural BNEF Forum Paris, a premier event on November 27, 2024.

This event will convene key stakeholders and policy makers from across France’s energy and manufacturing industry and capital markets to discuss the challenges and opportunities that hydrogen, clean molecules, carbon capture and the circular economy present for industries including chemicals, cement, metals, plastics and food & beverage.

As one of Europe’s financial and engineering centers, France is set to play an important role in meeting the bloc’s ambitious industrial decarbonization goals, with strong circular economy policy, plans for green hydrogen auctions in 2024, and a new carbon capture strategy announced in July this year.

The opportunity is significant, particularly as the EU begins to phase in heavy industry to its emissions trading system and the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) comes into full force in 2026. Earlier this year, the EU also announced a new Industrial Carbon Management Strategy.
