(Bloomberg) — Acciona SA, the Spanish infrastructure and
renewable-energy developer, plans to build 805.5 megawatts of
wind-power capacity this year in North America.
Acciona’s Windpower unit is installing 465 megawatts of its
turbines at three projects in Texas, 238.5 megawatts at three
wind farms in Mexico and a single 102-megawatt installation in
Canada, the Madrid-based company said in a statement Wednesday.
By the end of the year, the company expects to have more
than 2.3 gigawatts of its turbines in operation in North
America, representing 41 percent of its global capacity.
