Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) — Agrisoma Biosciences Inc., a
Canadian agricultural technology company, will receive $8
million through the end of the year to commercialize the
cultivation of non-food crops used to make oil for biofuels.
Cycle Capital Management led the round and was joined by
existing investor BDC Venture Capital, Gatineau, Quebec-based
Agrisoma said in a statement Sept. 26.
The company’s Resonance Carinata plant is in commercial
production in the U.S. and Canada and the funding will help
Agrisoma expand to “multiple locations globally,” according to
the statement. Carinata, a non-food oilseed, is one of four
crops certified as sustainable by the Roundtable on Sustainable
Biomaterials.
