Apex Clean Energy Receiving $50 Million From Prudential Capital

(Bloomberg) — Apex Clean Energy Inc., a Charlottesville,
Virginia-based renewable-energy developer, raised $50 million in
financing from Prudential Capital Group.

The investment will be used to develop and acquire projects
and for general corporate purposes, the company said in an e-mailed statement Tuesday.

Apex, founded in 2009, is creating more than 10 gigawatts
of renewable energy capacity, including five wind farms totaling
more than 1 gigawatt that it plans to put into operation in the
coming year, according to the statement.

“This capital will support the investments required to
push projects forward,” Apex President Mark Goodwin said in the
statement. “The low cost of clean energy has been the key
factor driving growth in the market.”
