Kyocera Profit From Solar Business Declines on Weak Panel Prices

(Bloomberg) — Kyocera Corp.’s full-year profit from its
solar business dropped because of falling prices of panels.

Income at the company’s applied ceramic products group,
which includes solar products, plunged 91 percent to 3.2 billion
yen ($27 million) in the 12 months ended March 31 from a year
earlier, Kyocera said in a filing Monday.

Total net income rose a better-than-forecast 31 percent to
116 billion yen because of sales increases in auto and
smartphone-related businesses, according to the Kyoto-based
company.
