(Bloomberg) — Marubeni Corp. will build a 146-megawatt
solar power station in Chile with EDF Energies Nouvelles, a
wholly-owned unit of Electricite de France SA.
The project, to be set up in the Atacama Desert, is equally
owned by the EDF unit and Marubeni, the Japanese trading company
said in a statement Tuesday. No financial terms were disclosed.
The station is estimated to cost as much as 40 billion yen
($334 million), the Nikkei newspaper reported earlier.
The solar station is the companies’ third project after
developing two wind farms in North America together, according
to the statement.
