Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) — Ofgem, the U.K. energy regulator,
published proposals for SSE Plc to spend 1.1 billion pounds
($1.8 billion) on a transmission link in the north of Scotland
that will enable the connection of renewable power projects.
Ofgem proposed building the link for 173.9 million pounds
less than the original 1.2 billion-pound proposal set out by
SSE’s Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission unit, it said today
an e-mailed statement. The link will connect as much as 1.2
gigawatts of new renewable-electricity generation when it’s
finished in 2018. A final decision on funding will be made in
December, according to the statement.
