Peruvian Hydro Gets $70 Million Loan From Japanese Agency

Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) — Peru’s government will get a $70
million loan from Japan’s International Cooperation Agency for
two hydropower plants.

Moquegua 1 and 3 will add 32.8 megawatts to help meet
electricity demand in the southern region, Peru’s Ministry of
Economy and Finance said on its website Saturday.

Including this loan, the government of Japan has financed
$807.3 million worth of infrastructure projects in Peru since
2008, according to the statement.
