(Bloomberg) — Solar Frontier K.K., a unit of Japan’s Showa
Shell Sekiyu K.K., completed the construction of a solar panel
plant in northern Japan.
The 150-megawatt plant in Miyagi prefecture now moves into
the ramp-up phase, Tokyo-based Solar Frontier said in a
statement Tuesday.
Solar Frontier’s largest plant, which can produce 900
megawatts per year, is in the southwestern prefecture of
Miyazaki. The company makes panels using copper, indium, gallium
and selenium, known as CIGS.
