(Bloomberg) — Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind
Systems A/S won an order to build 13 two-megawatt turbines in
South Korea. The buyer and value of contract weren’t disclosed.
The plant will be in South Korea’s northeastern Gangwon
Province, Aarhus, Denmark-based Vestas Wind said in a statement
Thursday on its website. The unnamed buyer was described as one
of the largest South Korean conglomerates.
“South Korea is an increasingly attractive wind energy
market as the country continues diversifying its energy mix to
reduce dependence on nuclear power and imported fossil fuels,”
Danny Nielsen, head of Vestas Pan-Asia, said in the statement.
