Energy Transition

As geopolitical risks in the Middle East intensify in the global energy market, volatility in the supply and demand of crude oil and LNG is increasing, bringing energy security back to the forefront. In particular, growing uncertainty around major maritime shipping routes and rising transportation costs have made South Korea, which relies heavily on energy imports, more vulnerable to external shocks that directly affect electricity costs, inflation, and industrial competitiveness. This uncertainty is further underscoring the importance of discussing structural changes in the energy market and the strategies needed to respond.

At this forum, we will examine global energy transition investment trends and provide an in-depth analysis of how Middle East-driven geopolitical risks are affecting the global energy market, including LNG. We will also assess the commercial viability of data centers in key regions through an outlook on the Asian data center market. In addition, based on analysis of global energy transition scenarios and South Korea’s macroeconomic outlook, we aim to discuss the direction and implementation priorities of the country’s energy transition together with industry leaders.

Amid a rapidly changing international environment, we look forward to your interest in and participation at BNEF Forum Seoul 2026, where we will come together to discuss the future of South Korea’s energy industry.
